Invalidation

Also known as Thesis invalidation

The specific, pre-defined condition that proves a thesis wrong and requires the position to be closed — a level lost, a macro print that breaks the regime assumption, a guidance cut, a skew collapse, a correlation breakdown. Writing it down before entry converts an exit into a rule rather than a debate with yourself. The OHC trade memo devotes a whole section to it, titled "what kills the thesis".
