Valuation & Fundamentals Intermediate

Discounted cash flow

Also known as DCF · DCF analysis

A valuation method that forecasts an asset's future cash flows and discounts them back to present value. DCF is the most fundamentals-driven of the standard methods and also the most sensitive to its inputs: growth rate, discount rate and terminal value. Module 2 teaches it alongside its limitations — high-growth companies, volatile industries and market stress are where it breaks.
